You will begin your wine journey in the village of Ampuis, cradle of Côte-Rôtie AOC. You will see the steep hillsides of one of the oldest vineyards in France and begin to understand how these vines have a perfect sun exposition and you’ll learn about the very rich and diversified terroir. You will immediately be seduced by the magnificent view over the Rhône Valley spreading south into the heart of the Saint Joseph appellation in the distance !

You will then be heading south to the Condrieu wine area, famous for its white wines. You will enjoy the intense aromatic Viognier, right where it is commonly regarded that viognier is best expressed and you’ll have another chance to taste the fruity and silky taste of the Syrah grape of the Northern Côtes du Rhône in their original terroir. After visiting this winery, you will now realise that the terroir, the grape variety but also the hand of the winemaker contribute to making unique wines.You will enjoy the intense aromatic Viognier and the fruity and silky taste of Syrah grape of the Northern Côtes du Rhône in their original terroir.

We had an amazing experience on this half day tour. Our guide, Roman was organized, charming and knowledgeable. During our drive to the vineyards, he had a game ready for us to test our nose for wine with multiple different samples across the entire smell spectrum of wine. We visited two different vineyards where we learned all about wine making in the Northern Rhone and tasted eight different wines from the region. We ended up buying bottles from both places. This tour was a blast and we would highly recommend it. Thank you from Colette and Eddy

Nous avons vécu une expérience extraordinaire lors de cette excursion d'une demi-journée. Notre guide, Roman, était organisé, charmant et bien informé. Pendant notre trajet vers les vignobles, il avait préparé un jeu pour que nous puissions tester notre nez pour le vin avec de nombreux échantillons différents couvrant tout le spectre olfactif du vin. Nous avons visité deux vignobles différents où nous avons appris tout ce qu'il y avait à savoir sur la fabrication du vin dans le Rhône Nord et nous avons dégusté huit vins différents de la région. Nous avons fini par acheter des bouteilles dans les deux endroits. Cette excursion a été un vrai plaisir et nous la recommandons vivement. Merci de la part de Colette et Eddy

I thoroughly enjoyed the Northern Rhône Valley tour with Rhône Trip and our guide François. Starting high up the vineyards of Côte-Rôtie was a great introduction for understanding the terroir. Our tastings were generous, relaxed, and included a good variety of Northern Rhône appellations—Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Saint-Péray, Crozes-Hermitage, and even some Southern Rhône Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Highly recommend!

The half-day trip was ideal for an introduction to the wines of the Northern Rhone - Condrieu/Ampus area. After taking in the very scenic panorama, we were taken to two interesting family wineries where the pourers told us about the area, production and styles of wines, and provided generous tastings. Our guide Mathilde was friendly and informative too, speaking excellent English. We're deighted that we also booked their Beaujolais trip!
