Departing from Avignon, you will explore the vineyards of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The vines "thrive" in this unique soil of rounded pebbles (galets roulés), bathed in sunshine and swept by the Mistral wind. A variety of grape types are cultivated in this Mediterranean climate, creating the fabulous complexity of this exceptional wine.You will step inside two beautiful estates to taste this marvelous nectar, featuring aromas of ripe fruit, spices, and garrigue—as well as white flowers and stone fruits when it comes to the white Châteauneuf-du-Pape!One of the defining features of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation lies in the diversity of its authorized grape varieties—thirteen in total (including their color variants). Grenache is often the dominant variety, providing power, richness, and notes of ripe red fruit. Syrah and Mourvèdre contribute structure, complexity, and aging potential. Other varieties, such as Cinsault, Clairette, Vaccarèse, or Counoise, complete the blend, adding subtle aromatic nuances.
