Morning: From Avignon, you will first explore the vineyard of Châteauneuf du Pape. You’ll discover and learn how the vines benefit from an impressive terroir of large rolled pebbles from the Rhone river, bathed by the southern Rhone Valley sun and caressed by the ever present and beneficial winds. Several grape varieties are grown in this mediteranean climate, which is what makes the fabulous complexity of this exceptional wine. You will walk through the door of a beautiful estate to taste this wonderful nectar with ripe fruits, spices and garrigue aromas, and also white flowers and stone fruits for the white Châteauneuf-du-Pape!
You’ll be served lunch in a restaurant, selected by us.
Afternoon: Let's explore the Gigondas wine area. Alongside the impressive Dentelles de Montmirail rock formations, the wines of this terroir are as interesting to taste as it is visually. Red Grenache reigns here and produces fruity wines, withpowerful tannins and aromas of coffee. Wine to keep in your wine cellar forsure! You can make your own opinion during the tasting in a local winery. To finish in style, you will visit the AOC area next door, Vacqueyras. Complex and concentrated wines are produced here, at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail, also on a soil of rolled pebbles. This red wine has a concentration of red fruits and aromatic spices and the white wine floral and delicate notes. You will of course have the opportunity to taste them in a charming cellar of Vacqueyras.
