Just 20 minutes south from Lyon, Vienne is at present a small town,but with an important historical past.We will reveal the secrets of this Roman city, which also became animportant town in the Middle-ages as illustrated by the majesticcathedral. Vienne represents nowadays one of the most importantarchaeological heritages in France.
During a stroll in the lovely oldtown, you will see several Roman remains such as the Temple ofAugustus and Livia built in the 1st century BC.You will then go to the other side of the Rhône River to discover theNorthern Côtes du Rhône. In the Côte-Rôtie vineyard, you will learnand understand how this area can produce a wine with such anaromatic richness. You will immediately be seduced by themagnificent view over the Rhône Valley and the steep hillsides ofthese vineyards.
We will then go to a local winery where you will delight yourself withthe spicy and red fruit aromas but especially the elegance of theCôte-Rôtie. It is possible to do this tour as a full day tour with lunch in a local restaurant followed by an afternoon tasting in a wine estate.
